Dollar amounts are approximate, at the fixed rate of US$ 1 = XCG 1.79. You pay in XCG.

Decision time

The official website states 2 business days to pick up the document, but the official form you sign promises a decision within up to 1 week (literal text in Dutch: 'binnen 1 week een beslissing'). Plan your trip assuming the longer period (1 week) to be safe.

Steps to apply

1. Gather the requirements (includes a physical photo).
   How to get this done

   You need 1 recent passport-style photo (light background, no dark glasses, taken within the last 6 months) — you can get one at any photo studio or pharmacy offering ID photo services in Willemstad. Add it to: copy of passport, copy of flight ticket, and proof of payment.

2. Submit IN PERSON at the counter (the only exception to digital submission, because of the photo).

   Why this procedure is submitted in person (not online)

   Unlike most procedures (which are submitted by email), here you must be physically present, usually because a photo, fingerprint or signature is needed on the spot, or because the procedure requires personal identity verification. Go directly to the Toelatingsorganisatie counter with all your original documents.

   • Arrive early: these counter procedures are usually handled in order of arrival.
   • Bring cash or have your proof of payment ready: not every counter can process payments on the spot.
3. Pick up the proof of return 2 business days later.

The temporary location at Saliña 127 (Eurobuilding), used since September 2024, is no longer the Toelatingsorganisatie's address. The phone number is 733-2000; the old numbers 733-2080, 733-2081 and 733-2083 are no longer in use.   Aanvraagformulier Bewijs van Terugkeer / Re-entry permit application

  This is the permit you need if you leave Curaçao temporarily and want to guarantee your return without losing your residence status. The form itself promises a decision within 1 week.

  Section 1 — Reason for the application: Fixed sentence: 'The undersigned requests the issue of a proof of return': you don't have to write anything, just sign.

  Section 2 — Proof of payment details: Date of deposit and amount (XCG 225, already fixed).

  Section 3 — Personal details, destination and trip: Surname, first names, nationality, travel destination, your application/request number, FMSCRV number, travel date, phone, expiry date of your current permit and, if you have already applied for a renewal, the date you submitted it.

What the official rules say

• This is the ONLY application on this site that can/must be submitted in person instead of online, precisely because of the physical photo.

• Source of the 2-day period: the official website. Source of the 1-week period: the printed form itself (Formulario-prueba-de-regreso / Aanvraagformulier-Bewijs-van-Terugkeer). This is a real, unresolved inconsistency between two official sources — check with the Toelatingsorganisatie if your trip is urgent.
