Privacy policy
RutaCuracao keeps the minimum it needs to work. Here is what data passes through the site, who else processes it, how long it is kept and how to ask for it to be deleted.

Who is responsible
RutaCuracao is an independent project written and maintained by Roger Pillasagua from Curaçao. For anything about your data, write to rogerpillasagua95@gmail.com.
Reading the site
Reading the pages requires no sign-up and no personal data. As with any website, the service that hosts the site (Vercel, in the United States) receives the IP address and browser of each visit in order to serve the page and protect it from abuse.
The AI chat
- What is sent: when you ask a question, the conversation goes to our server and from there to OpenAI (United States), which generates the answer. If you saved “My data”, it travels with that same question. Under OpenAI's API terms, that data is not used to train their models and may be kept for up to 30 days to monitor abuse.
- What we keep: your latest question and its answer, to check whether the assistant answers well. Without your IP, without “My data” and without anything that identifies you. The 2,000 most recent are kept; older ones are deleted automatically.
- In your browser: the conversation is kept for 3 days in your own browser so you don't lose it when you change page. The “Clear conversation” button deletes it.
- So the free chat is not drained by abuse we count how many questions are asked from each IP per day. That counter deletes itself after 2 days.
“My data”
What you type in “My data” (name, passport, etc.) is stored only in your browser, not on our server, and only leaves it inside the questions you ask the chat. Until 23 September 2026 it was stored on the server: those copies move to your browser and are deleted from the server the first time you open the panel, and any that nobody comes to collect expire by 22 March 2027 at the latest.
“Talk to a person”
If you leave us an enquiry, we keep your name, your email or WhatsApp, the case you describe, the language and the date, only in order to reply to you. It can only be read with the administrator key and is deleted automatically after one year; if you ask us to delete it sooner, we will. The internal notice that a new enquiry arrived contains none of that data.
Payments
Payments are made on PayPal: we never see or store your card. For each purchase we keep the PayPal order and transaction number, the pack, the amount, the date and your browser's random identifier, to credit your questions and to let you recover them if you change browser. PayPal handles your payment data under its own privacy policy.
Your browser identifier
For purchases, the site creates a random identifier in your browser that says nothing about you. It is not shared with anyone and cannot be used to follow you on other sites.
Cookies and local storage
The site only sets cookies if you accept Google Analytics in the notice. If you accept, Google Analytics (Google, United States) stores the _ga and _ga_* cookies to count visits and learn which pages help, and records a few moments: opening the chat, sending a question (without its text), starting or completing a purchase, downloading a form and home-page searches that find nothing. Never the text of your questions or your data. If you don't accept, nothing from Google is loaded. You can change your choice at any time from “Cookies” at the foot of every page.
Without cookies, your browser also keeps: the light or dark theme you choose, your cookie choice, how many free questions you used today and the ones you bought, the conversation (3 days), “My data” and the random identifier. All of it lives only on your device and is removed when you clear this site's data in your browser.
Your rights
You can ask what data of yours we hold, or have it corrected or deleted, by writing to rogerpillasagua95@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days at most.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, this page is updated with the date of the revision.
