Is RutaCuracao an official government site?
No. It is an independent, unofficial project. Every factual detail (requirements, costs, deadlines) comes straight from immigrationcur.org (Toelatingsorganisatie Curacao) — we do not interpret it or guess. For the procedure itself you always file your application with the government, not here.
Is this legal advice?
It does not replace formal legal advice. It is information built on public sources (the official site plus 176 court rulings read in full). For complex cases — a criminal record, a deportation order, an asylum claim — the page itself tells you to speak to a lawyer and links you to the official directory of the Orde van Advocaten Curacao.
Where do the success rates the AI gives come from?
From 176 published immigration rulings, read in full rather than summarised by an algorithm. Every percentage can be checked against the ECLI case numbers the AI cites in its answer. Note: these are success rates in litigation (people who already received a refusal and went to court), not the approval odds of someone who follows the procedure correctly from the start.
Is my data (name, passport) safe if I save it in 'My data'?
It is stored in a database (Upstash Redis) reachable only with a random identifier generated in your own browser — nobody can reach it without that identifier, and you can erase it at any moment with the 'Delete my data' button. It is not shared with third parties and is not used for anything other than helping you with your procedure.
What does the AI chat cost?
The first 3 questions each day are free for any visitor. If you need more, you can buy extra questions: 20 for $4, or 60 for $10 (17% cheaper per question) — a one-off payment, not a subscription. The rest of the site (procedures, forms, filling guides, the print/PDF button) is always free, with no limit and without needing the chat.
How do I pay for a question pack, and is paying through PayPal safe?
Payment happens on PayPal's own site, never on this one — we never see or store your card number at any point. You can pay by debit or credit card, or with your PayPal balance if you have an account. Once PayPal confirms the payment, the questions in the pack are credited automatically in the same browser where you bought them.
How up to date is the information?
The government's official site is checked automatically every week for real changes. When one is confirmed, it is published with its date on the Updates page.
Can I trust the AI not to make things up?
The assistant's rules explicitly forbid inventing costs, deadlines or case-law citations — it must always look them up in the real database before answering, and say honestly when it does not have the information instead of improvising.
