— Kranshi requires an appointment to register in the population register
Since 7 September 2026, registration is not processed without an appointment. You can schedule one at +5999 434-1600 or by email at info.bsbv@gobiernu.cw. This affects anyone collecting a permit (including Rib'e Lugá) who must register afterward.

— Rib'e Lugá: the registration deadline has been extended until October 31, 2026
The original window was set to close about 3 months after May 1, 2026. The Council of Ministers extended it due to high demand and difficulties obtaining documents (especially from Venezuela). The decision period for each application remains up to 6 months.

— New Toelatingsorganisatie policy: permits of up to 3 years, fee for each year, and incomplete applications are no longer processed
Effective from 1 April 2026. You can apply for the permit for 1, 2 or 3 years by paying years × fee in advance (except for short stay, remote worker and tourist extension). The 6-week deadline to complete an incomplete application is discontinued. The criteria for indefinite residence are confirmed.

— New work permit moratorium: only 6 restricted occupations
The 2016 list of 34 protected occupations was repealed. Today, SOAW does not issue new work permits only for: low-level administrative staff, security guards, warehouse workers, shelf stockers, salespeople, and store staff. Hospitality, construction, gardening, and domestic work are no longer restricted.
