Who makes RutaCuracao, and where does this data come from?
RutaCuracao is an independent, unofficial project that brings together, in one place, the immigration information on Curacao that today is scattered, only in Dutch or English, or simply written down nowhere.
Where each figure comes from
- 23 documented procedures, taken from the pages published by the Toelatingsorganisatie Curacao (Ministerie van Justitie) at immigrationcur.org — costs, requirements, forms and deadlines come straight from there, not from interpretation.
- 176 published immigration rulings of the Court of First Instance of Curacao (OGEAC) and the Joint Court of Justice (OGHACMB), including some from Aruba, Bonaire and Sint Maarten under a similar law, read in full — not just the headnote — to know, case by case, who won and why. That is where the success rates and the ECLI citations on each procedure come from. The full list of the 176 rulings (in Spanish), each linked to its original text, is public.
- The 29 official forms you can download on each page are direct copies of the ones the government publishes, hosted here so they do not depend on the official site being up at that moment.
What this site is NOT
It is not a law firm and it does not replace formal legal advice. It is an informational guide: when a case involves a criminal record, a deportation order, or a claim for protection or asylum, the page says so and refers you to the official directory of Curacao lawyers (Orde van Advocaten) instead of improvising an answer.
Who writes it
RutaCuracao is written and maintained by Roger Pillasagua from Curacao, as a personal and independent project. It belongs to no law firm and to no government body, and it takes no money from insurers, agents or lawyers: the only source of income is the optional pack of chat questions. How it is kept up to date
The government's official site is checked automatically every week for changes in policy, requirements or costs — so the data here does not stay frozen on the day it was written. All pages were last rebuilt on .
The AI chat
The site's assistant queries this same database in real time (it never invents costs or cites case law from memory), using an OpenAI language model. It gives 3 free questions a day; it does not replace legal advice for complex cases.
