CMC warns of financial risk to hospital care in Curaçao
The Curaçao Medical Center asked the government for an urgent decision on structural funding to maintain medical care. The hospital estimates it needs approximately XCG 236 million in 2026, but projects it will receive XCG 206,4 million from SVB, with an estimated deficit of XCG 29,6 million. According to its projections, from early November it may not have sufficient liquidity to meet all its obligations.
What this means for you: If you depend on care at CMC, stay informed about possible changes to services, appointments or SVB coverage. No interruption of care has been reported yet, but the financial situation may affect service availability.
